With each generation of new cars the electrical equipment increases. Just think of board computers, distance control, mobile internet or internal bus systems for electrical components. In addition the number of newly released models increases, too. This leads to more and more complex and ambitious electrical networks to be created within a shorter time.

Developing and manufacturing wire harnesses CAx technologies are used to offer high flexibility, short reaction time and high grade. Used technologies are 3D CAD systems to enable routing of cables and bundles in a virtual prototype and CAE systems to allow the definition of electrical/logical relations. The aggregation of these topological and electrical/logical definitions describes the wire harness in total, so that a harness supplier may build it and deliver it to the assembly line just in time.

The following diagram illustrates the data flow in and from LDorado. Topology from CATIA and CADDS, electrical/logical data from LCable and E ³.series are made available in LDorado.

Thereby highest value is put on standardized data formats. Like that no adjustments are necessary for different source or target systems.
